In 1921, the Red Cross Orthopaedic Workshop is founded in Riga. In 1933, the Latvian Red Cross building complex at 62 Pērnavas Street, designed in the functionalist style by Aleksandrs Klinklavs, is built, where the “Red Cross Orthopaedic Workshop” is located and expands its activities. The hospital building now houses the University of Economics and Culture and the Medical Centre and Aids Rental.

Access to the University part of the building is from the courtyard, by car, to the lift, which is accessible at ground level. The Medical Centre is accessed from the street, where there is a convenient entrance with glass doors that open automatically. A lift with instructions can be seen in the stairwell. The lift takes you to the 1/2 floor of the medical centre above, which is accessed via an automatically opening door; you enter a wide corridor where you can receive the services you need (reception, offices). There is a wheelchair accessible toilet.
