Kurzeme

Alsunga’s “Mazātak”

This trail extends the existing Žibgrava Trail, which was previously inaccessible to people with disabilities due to its specific terrain. “Mazātak” offers scenic views and is designed to be enjoyed by wheelchair users as well.

Zirgu Island Trail at Lake Liepāja

This trail allows visitors to explore the surroundings of Lake Liepāja along a well-equipped route suitable for people with mobility impairments. The Zirgu Island Trail features informational stands and resting areas.

Būšnieki Lake Nature Trail

This approximately 9 km long trail encircles Būšnieki Lake, offering opportunities for cyclists, runners, and walkers. It is also accessible to people with mobility impairments, with information boards, resting spots, viewing platforms, and tactile objects along the route.

Kolkas Pine Forest Nature Trail

This trail winds through ancient pine forests and sand dunes, home to various plants and insects. Along the way, there are two viewing platforms and a 15-meter-high observation tower for enjoying sea views and birdwatching. The dry toilets are partially accessible for people with mobility impairments.

Čužu Bog Nature Trail

This trail follows the Abava River, meandering through forests and bogs where the rare Cinquefoil plant grows. The most spectacular time to visit is in July and August when the flowers bloom. Other rare plants, such as marsh violets and bog orchids, can also be found here. A parking lot and an adapted toilet are available at the trail’s starting point. However, wheelchair users should note that the Čužu Bog Nature Trail is only partially accessible. The first section is a gravel path that is flat, wide, and firm, though some small stones may create challenges for certain wheelchair models.

Kupskalni Nature Trail

This short, pleasant boardwalk trail runs along the Siliņupe River and through forested dunes, leading to a wide sandy beach near the old Lapmežciems pier. The trail is partially accessible to people with mobility impairments, and an adapted toilet is available at the beginning of the trail.

Vidzeme

Dikļi Song Festival Trail

Located near Valmiera, this trail offers an opportunity to explore the site where the first Latvian Song Festival was held. The route is partially accessible for people with mobility impairments, and an audio guide with 10 listening points is available.

Vīsrags Nature Trail

Situated near Valmiera, this trail provides an opportunity to experience the local natural landscape. It is also suitable for people with mobility impairments.

Gauja Nature Trail & Wooden Sculpture Park

This trail, located near Valmiera, allows visitors to explore the Gauja River surroundings and admire wooden sculptures. Around 30 wooden sculptures dedicated to raft builders are displayed along the Gauja’s banks. Every year, new sculptures are created during the Gauja Raft Builders’ Festival. Assistance is recommended when navigating the trail.

Trail to Veczemju Cliffs

The Veczemju Cliffs are the most impressive sandstone formations along the Vidzeme coastline. The trail leading to the cliffs is 450 meters long (one way) and is partially accessible for people with mobility impairments.

Trail to Tūja Pier

This trail leads to Tūja Pier, which was once the only pier along the Vidzeme coast between Mangaļsala and Ainaži. The trail is partially accessible for people with mobility impairments and is also suitable for parents with baby strollers.
