Lake Vilkmuiža in the city of Talsi is currently undergoing transformations – improvement works are underway, but already there are adapted amenities and a marked parking space for people with disabilities. There is also a convenient, accessible trail around the lake, which is actively used by both parents with children in strollers and people with mobility impairments.
As part of the improvement project, it is planned to install a pontoon structure in Lake Vilkmuiža, in which a special swimming area for children will be created. A walking boardwalk on pontoons will be built along the lake shore. An access road with a boardwalk intended for launching boats, as well as a turn-around road will be built to Lake Vilkmuiža. Pedestrian paths of various types of surface will be built and renovated, a sandy beach with small architectural forms will be created, lighting elements will be installed, a changing cabin, a drinking water tap, a beach volleyball court will be built, and the territory will be greened and other works will be carried out.
