Description:
City walking route, recommended to wheelchair users with an assistant.
Talsi is a picturesque town known as the “city on nine hills” featuring scenic lakes, historic wooden architecture, and a rich cultural heritage.
The route links together two lakes in the town – Lake Talsi and Lake Vilkmuižas, while at the same time introducing visitors with city landscape, old houses, promenade, reproductions of paintings by artists from Talsi, Talsi hillfort and opening nice city views.
The parking area and accessible toilets are available at the starting point. The first route section includes asphalt surface and a wide, wooden boardwalk along Lake Talsi and is wheelchair accessible, with little assistance that might be needed to some wheelchair users to get on to the boardwalk, as it has about 5cm threshold. More assistance is recommended on the Lake Vilkmuižas section, which has steep ramp (10 degrees) to get down to the lake and a gravel path around it.
