The Space Knowledge Center is a modern, educational, and accessible venue in Cēsis, whose main goal is to foster children’s and young people’s interest in STEM fields through the theme of space. In designing and equipping the center, we have paid special attention to accessibility so that every visitor feels comfortable and welcome.

Access from the parking lot, which is adapted for people with disabilities: Convenient and barrier-free access is provided from the center’s parking lot all the way to the main entrance.

Movement between floors: The building is equipped with an elevator that allows people in wheelchairs and parents with strollers to move freely and independently from the first to the third floor to fully view all exhibits. The elevator announces the floor numbers.

The center’s facilities include specially equipped restrooms that meet accessibility requirements for people with disabilities. Some exhibits that were not placed on a raised platform were accessible to people in wheelchairs. There is Braille on the stair railings indicating the specific floor.

The symbols for the restrooms could be more clearly marked. The service counter in the center’s premises is too high. There is no audio guide; several QR codes are required.
