The stone church was built and first mentioned in 1483 as the Church of St. The Kropotkin family of princes were the guardians of the parish. Between 1965 and 1990, Sigulda Church was the only functioning church. In 1930, a new reinforced concrete tower was completed, designed by the architect Konstantin Pēkšēns. Since the second half of the 19th century, the church has had ornate ceiling lights made of brass.
The church does not have a disabled toilet. There is no parking space for people with disabilities. There is a ramp at the entrance to get into the church. It is easy to move around the building.
