It was illegal to establish a Seventh-day Adventist church and to hold meetings in Tsarist Russia, as only large churches were granted the right to do so. Riga I is the only Seventh-day Adventist church in Latvia with its own organ. Organ concerts are also held regularly, with organ music played by both church musicians and invited organists.

It was possible to get inside the church without any problems. The 2nd floor, where services are held, is accessible via a vertical lift. Sign language services are also available here. And there was an adapted toilet in the building.
