The RSU Anatomy Museum is an unusual museum with a historical collection and a modern approach. The museum is based on the first anatomy teaching collection in Latvia, created in an anatomical school in the 1920s and 1930s. The museum is now open to all. The entrance door is wide but opens outwards and is heavy. The entrance gates are also wide and are open during museum opening hours, but afterwards there is a short stretch of cobblestones with a long distance between them. The museum has wide passageways, with no thresholds/elevations or doors. There is a lift, no steps at the entrance, and access to the museum itself. There were no audio facilities on the ground floor, but the staircase handrails also have the floors marked in braille. There was a contrast of colours between the background and the letters. QR codes are available in the basement of the museum, which can be scanned to get a broader overview of the objects.
– The museum and the toilet are accessible for people with reduced mobility
