The Rõuge church building is a single-nave structure in the Neoclassical style. There are no side galleries. The interior, in white and light tones, creates a spacious and beautiful impression.

Description

Near the church there is a public parking area, located directly in front of Rõuge Basic School. Although there are no designated parking spaces for people with disabilities, it is possible to park very close to the church in the asphalt-covered parking lot if spaces are available. It should be taken into account that there is no tactile information for visually impaired persons, such as guidance paths, signs, or wayfinding markers.

The route to the church runs across an open grassy area. The surface along the way varies between compacted ground, grass, and cobblestone paving. In the entrance corridor, there are doormats between the two doors, and after entering there is a raised threshold (higher than 4 cm).

The church is surrounded by a green area with a bench for seating and offers a picturesque view of Rõuge. Church services are held there, and the church can be visited during opening hours, for example to see the 19th-century altar painting “Christ on the Cross” by Rudolf von zur Mühlen.
