The founder and first director of the French Lyceum in Riga was Marcel Etienne Segrest. The Lyceum was originally located at 29 Elizabetes Street. From 1965, it was located at 8 Mēness Street. On 10 June 1990, the Lyceum regained its historical name. On 3 September 2018, the Riga French Lyceum returned to its historical building at 48 K.Valdemāra Street.

From Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street you can’t get in because you have to climb stairs. You have to go from the courtyard on the Aristida Briāna Street side and then open the glass doors to get to the lift. There is an audio info in the lift which announces the floor. The school has wide passageways. There are adapted toilets on the 1st and 3rd floors.
