Restaurant SUUR MUNA (Big Egg) is located in Haanja Nature Park, in the heart of Võru County. The Haanja Uplands, the highest area in Estonia (about 18% of the area lies higher than 250 m from sea level. The nature park (it`s area is about 17,000 ha) was established to secure the preservation, re-establishment and development of the landscapes and nature communities typical to the Haanja Uplands and also the historically established way of life, i.e. farmhouses spread far apart, small plots of land, pastures and grasslands and handicraft traditions due to poor arable land. Within the nature park there are the highest point of the Baltic States – Suur Munamägi (318 m) and the deepest lake in Estonia – Rõuge Suurjärv (38 m).

Usually the restaurant has some free tables available for you. But to guarantee for the best table and your favorite food available we recommend to book a table in advance. Specially if you have group more than 4 people, they will be better prepared and can guarantee good service if they know in advance when you are coming.
Restaurant “Suur Muna” is located in Haanja and it is quite well reachable. The restaurant is located beside an asphalt road and the parking lot is also asphalt. There is room to park but there aren`t any marked parking spots for people with special needs. In the summer season the terrace is well reachable with a ramp but in other seasons we roccommend to visit the restaurant with a companion because the ramp to the restaurant take you to the door that opens to the ramp. You should also know that moving from indoors to terrace and back there is about 8cm high doorstep. There aren`t any modifications in the restaurant for people with special needs and the toilets on the first and second floor are not accessible with a wheelchair. There are handrails indoors when moving between two floors but there isnt any when entering the restaurant. But the service in the restaurant is nice, friendly and personal.
