Ogre History and Art Museum was founded in 1981. The collection of the museum consists of more than 40 thousand different objects. The small main exhibition “From bank to museum” presents the creation and transformation of the building at Brīvības Street 36 over the course of approximately 50 years. Built as the building of the State Bank of the USSR, it has become the home of the Ogre History and Art Museum. In 2019, the permanent exposition “Pietura OGRE” was opened, which tells about the cultural and historical development of the city. Exhibitions in the museum’s exhibition halls change almost every month.
In the museum, an unnecessary curb is left before the ramp, the markings on the first and last step are worn, the adapted toilet has only 1 handle. There is an elevator, wide corridors.
