Ogre History and Art Museum was founded in 1981. Its collectionmuseum consists of more than 40 thousand different artifacts. The side exhibition “A bank becomes a museum” presents the creation and transformation of the building at Brīvības Street 36, Orge over the course of approximately 50 years. Originally built to house the State Bank of the USSR, it has been transformed into the Ogre History and Art Museum. In 2019, the permanent exposition “Pietura OGRE” (Train line to Ogre )was opened, launched to tell the stories of the city’s history of cultural and societal development. The various other exhibitions in the museum change almost every month.

In the museum, an unnecessary curb still stands in front of the access ramp, the markings on the first and last step are worn, the adapted toilet has only 1 handle. However, the Museum here is equipped with an elevator, and its halls and corridors are wide.
