Tartu City Museum depicts the past and present of Estonia’s second-biggest city.
Description
When arriving at the museum it is located close to the Old town of Tartu so you can either park there and come to the museum after a small trek or somewhere other near the museum or connect the museum before your visit if special parking is needed and then you can park behind the museum in the museum fence. Since the museum has an exhibition also in the yard there aren’t many parking spots and the lot is not open all the time.
When entering the museum with a wheelchair or a baby stroller etc then the accessible entrance is behind the house so the entrance is also in the yard side. There are a few doorsteps before you can use the private elevator to reach the second floor with a wheelchair, stroller etc. An accessible toilet is also near the elevator but there aren`t any changing tables yet. There are also stairs with a handrail that are accessible freely in the museum.
In the museum you will find different objects that you can touch, listen and see so there is something for everyone and the staff is definitely helpful. This museum is also pet friendly.
