Baron Munchausen is a fictional German nobleman created by the German writer Rudolf Erich Raspe in his 1785 book “Baron Munchausen’s Narrative of his Marvellous Travels and Campaigns in Russia”.
The museum tells about the extraordinary story of Munchausen and presents different things linked to baron and his adventures – hunting trophies, daggers, weapons, Munchausen’s wax figure with a string of ducks – and these are just some of the things you’ll find at the museum.
In Latvia the only collection of wax figures is being exhibited on the first floor of Munchausen’s museum.
– There is an adapted toilet for people with mobility impairments
– There is a parking for people with disabilities
– Only the first floor is accessible for wheelchair users
