Established to chronicle and commemorate the formation of the Latvian riflemen battalions – the earliest Latvian military units during the First World War, the Military museum also illustrates the complex military-political climate at the time of Latvia’s first establishment in 1918, its accession into the USSR in 1940, and return to national independence in 1991, among other relevant topics.
The Museum HAS an elevator, though certain parts of the medieval Gunpowder Tower housing the Museum regardless remain inaccessible to invalids. The front door is bulky, but the security guard posted nearby will help at need.
In general, the Museum is partially accessible to invalids. Accessible toilet on ground floor.
