The museum celebrated its centenary in 2025. The musical instrument collection exhibition “Touch” travels throughout Latvia – from Liepāja’s “Lielais Dzintars” to Rēzekne’s regional concert hall GORS and back to Riga. In the new museum building at Mārstaļu iela 6, the Latvian National Museum of Literature and Music is opening a permanent exhibition entitled “Procrastination and Creation,” which is a cultural and social look at two of the most beautiful languages of Latvian national culture – literature and music – from the late 19th century to the present day. The 98 personalities featured in nine thematic sections are ambassadors whose experiences reveal the breadth of Latvian creativity.

There are stairs at the museum’s entrance, so museum staff roll out a ramp to help people with mobility impairments get inside. Assistance is required here. Information with a phone number is available at the entrance to call museum staff for help. The cloakroom has a low coat rack for people with mobility impairments. Toilets for people with mobility impairments are located on the 1st and 4th floors. The toilet on the 1st floor also has a baby changing table. All floors are accessible by elevator. The elevator buttons have Braille markings and an automated voice announces the floors. The elevator cabin and the 1st floor hall have information about all floors with pictograms indicating what is available on each floor. The basic texts for each exhibition hall are available in large print, and information about the floor is printed in Braille on the stair railings. The museum is open to visitors with service dogs. Portable induction loop audio guides are available at the information stand in the exhibition lobby.
