Did you know that the biggest (and probably the best) sports museum in Baltics is located in Tartu, Estonia? We introduce you to the history of Estonian sports and make sure you have fun while learning about it! We are not “just another museum” – our exclusive historical materials together with exciting and fun hands-on attractions mean visiting us just one time is clearly not enough.
Description
Estonian Sports and Olympic Museum is located in the heart of Tartu, not far from the town hall. There isn`t parking near the museum but there are places all over the old town where marked parking spots for disabled can be found. When arriving to the museum the head entrance from Rüütli street is accessible when you have enough strength to open a bit heavier door and there are a few steps also entering. You do have the possibility to ring the bell for help that is located on the right side of the main entrance. For wheelchair users the accessible entrance is on the Magasin street side through the courtyard where a ramp is located. Inside there is an elevator to be used when moving in between the floors and the expositions, interactive screens and attractions are wheelchair accessible. If you have a hearing loss then the museum is nicely signed, there is a yellow line on the floor that helps with the navigation. For people with the loss of sight the museum allows you to visit with a guide dog and there is a digital companion audio stories collection that you can listen from your smartphone or borrow the neccessary equipment from the museum reception on the first floor for free.
