Although certain historians claim to trace its origins to Albert, the archbishop of Riga in the 13th century, the White church was in fact consecrated only on September 17, 1788. In order to protect the building from springtime floods, large blocks of stone have been piled in its vicinity. Bumpy pavement at the pedestrian gate, and there is little space to bypass a large flowerpot. The church itself IS accessible by a roundabout leading to a ramp
