There is a new environmental installation on the nature trail around Lake Bilskas in Smiltene Municipality – Bird Tree. Bird Tree is one of seven objects in the AccessRoutes project that will be found at popular tourist destinations throughout Vidzeme. The new tactile objects—figures, miniature models of locations, and maps—will help visually impaired and blind people gain a detailed understanding of the sights through touch. Nearby is a pier from which you can fish.
