Väimela Healthcentre is the heart of the community, where you can play squash or table tennis, do aerobics or go swimming, use the saunas or visit the solarium. At present (2025) there are no tactile guiding paths for blind visitors either outdoors or inside, and there are no designated parking spaces for people with disabilities, stopping possible in fron of the building about 25 m from the entrance. There is a ramp at the entrance to the building and the doors open easily. Finding your way around the building is easy thanks to helpful staff, high-contrast signs and footprints painted on the floor.
Description
From the season of 2025 and onwards, people with mobility difficulties can use ramps, as well as a stairlift and a pool lift. In the shower room, additional hooks in the lockers are installed lower down and the locker numbers are tactile. Personal service is quaranteed on spot.
The shower room has support rails, freestanding shower chairs, and the sauna is accessible with a mobility aid because the bench can be moved. To reach the swimming pool there is a ramp and a wide side-hinged door. To access the large pool, the ladders have comfortable steps. A stairlift has been installed to access the second floor. Sound-absorbing panels have been fitted to the ceiling of the sports hall.
