Ugala Theatre is one of the oldest professional drama theatres in Estonia, established in 1920. Its repertoire is diverse, ranging from children’s stories and musical productions to world classics and contemporary international drama. Original Estonian works also hold a prominent place in the programme.

As one of the largest theatre buildings in Estonia, Ugala’s main hall accommodates 540 spectators, while the small hall offers seating for 155. In addition, the theatre includes several smaller spaces that can be adapted for performances and events.

The renovated theatre building is equipped with high-quality sound and visual technology, making it suitable for concerts, galas, and seminars for up to 1,000 participants. The in-house theatre café is open six days a week and provides catering services independently of performances. Group bookings and custom catering orders are welcome.

Description

Designated parking spaces for vehicles with disability permits are available near the main entrance of the theatre building and in the parking area by Reinu Street. Access to the building and its halls is made easier for people with mobility impairments through the use of elevators, lifts, and ramps. The theatre is equipped with two accessible toilets, one near the cloakrooms and another in the basement café. Special seating areas for wheelchair users are available in the auditoriums.

Due to stage design, access to the Small Hall may be more difficult for wheelchair users during certain performances, and assistance from front-of-house staff may be required. It is recommended to contact the Ugala Theatre box office in advance for more information.

Ugala Theatre strives to offer performances with audio description every year. For visitors who are blind or visually impaired, tactile aids such as Braille signage in the elevators are available to support independent navigation.
