The museum was founded in 1997. The museum has three permanent exhibitions. Since 2010 the museum has been holding a school caricature drawing competition “Have a laugh!”. Every year in the exhibition hall of the museum, we arrange several current thematic exhibitions about art, culture, craftsmen, the history of the region and personalities. Participation in the international event “Night of Museums” has become an integral tradition. The following exhibitions were available on the three floors of the museum – on the 1st floor 5 stories of the Ķekava region, on the 2nd floor money in the circles of time, on the 3rd floor Edgars Ozoliņš’s cartoons. There was a proposal to show the accessibility of the environment to the public with the help of cartoons and to teach all this already at school, not with the hammering method, but with games through jokes.

There was a parking lot for people with disabilities near the museum, there was a ramp at the entrance, you could get to all 3 floors with an elevator, and the toilet was also available for people with mobility impairments.
