Stropu Lake in Daugavpils is the largest reservoir in Latgale, which attracts many vacationers in the summer season, offering well-maintained beaches, a promenade, an outdoor gym and a pontoon structure with pools and a children’s recreation area. Boat, SUP board and kayak rentals are available on the shores of the lake, as well as the “Chill&Grill” campsite with tent and camper sites, children’s playgrounds and water attractions. The area offers an adventure park “Daugavpils Tarzāns”, an active recreation trail and a view of the Stropu Forest, providing opportunities for both peaceful relaxation and active activities for the whole family. Relaxation on the lake is also suitable for people with mobility impairments. There is a designated parking space for people with disabilities.
Stropu Promenade also provides access for people with mobility impairments, with the surface being made on one level. A changing room has been installed in the large Stropu Lake swimming area, which is specially adapted for people with mobility impairments. This lake is special because it has an automated system that allows people with mobility impairments to enter the water independently and return to shore after swimming. There is also a boardwalk with handrails that can be used by the blind and visually impaired.
