Saldus Lake is a popular destination for both city dwellers and visitors, as you can enjoy everything at the lake – from a peaceful beach holiday to active water and sports entertainment. There is a well-maintained swimming area with volleyball and children’s playgrounds, a boat launch, changing cabins and a spacious parking lot.
The surroundings of Saldus Lake also reveal a rich cultural and historical heritage. It is here that the Saldus Castle Mound and the environmental object “Saldus” located on Biļļu Hill with a view of the lake are located.
There is a swimming area, a changing cabin, amenities available to everyone and a parking lot at Saldus Lake. Although improvement works are currently ongoing, this place promises to become even more attractive and comfortable for all visitors soon. As part of the improvement, a safe environmental infrastructure will be created that is accessible to everyone. A well-maintained, comfortable walking trail runs from the lake along the Ciecere River, which stretches through the entire city and is accessible by wheelchair. There are also a couple of tactile paintings by J. Rozentālis placed along the trail.
