The Pärnu accessible beach is aimed for people with mobility impairment. Pärnu Bay Rotary Club has created the opportunity to use a floating wheelchair for swimming, with smooth access to the sea. The spacious changing room has a special lift and lockable lockers. On the designated terrace, special sun loungers can be used if desired. The floating wheelchairs, changing room, and terrace located on the beach sand are available for use by people with mobility impairments and their companions.
Some accessible attractions have been installed in the playground, offering activities also for children using wheelchairs. The playground is located Ranna pst 1c.
Description
Life jackets are available at the service point and are mandatory for users. The service is free of charge. In case of higher demand, the usage time of the floating wheelchair is limited to 1 hour, and service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The transfer to and from the floating wheelchair is assisted by the personal assistant. If necessary, volunteers will provide instructions on using the lift functions. The lift can lift a person weighing up to 130 kg.
