Description:
Orjaku port in Hiiumaa was used as a fishing port already in the 17th century. In 1912, the construction of the port began for the Tsarist Russian Navy mine fleet. Today, Orjaku is a recreational boat harbor. A fishing port for small boats has been built for fishermen. There is no specific trail, but the port offers amazing views and is one of the most popular marinas in Hiiumaa. A seasonal café and restaurant are open. Next to the port is the Orjaku village house where concerts and other events are held during the summer season. One can find a souvenir shop as well. Outside you can find a playground for the children. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet and a shower.
Accessibility
Driving from Käina, turn left onto Suuremõisa-Käina-Emmaste road, drive 1.7 km and turn left towards Kassari, drive antoher 3.8 km and you will see the harbour on your right. Coming from this direction you will also pass Orjaku study trail, which is definitely worth visiting and is wheelchair friendly.
