The exhibits provide an overview of Old Believers’ culture in the past and today. The collection includes samovars, flat irons, Old Believers’ clothing, household items, furniture and fishing gear. The best attraction of the museum is the guide who explains the history and nature of the items, which in large part can be touched and the staff adapts their communication in a disability-sensitive way.
Description
When arriving at the museum, there are no deisignated parking spaces behind the building, where there is also the entrance. One designates parking spot is located at the Mustvee Municipal government building on Tartu street 28 and there is paved footpath to the museum.
There are two steps at the entrance and then a narrow corridor leads further inside. The toilet is narrow and is not suitable for visitors using mobility aids. When going to the museum area, there is a step down, and moving around in the room is somewhat tight due to the placement of items.
