It should be noted that the medieval architecture of the tower imposes significant accessibility limitations. Before purchasing a ticket, one should make sure that narrow and steep stairs as well as high thresholds will not hinder the visit.
Description
The courtyard of the Red Tower can be accessed only from Hommiku Street. Through the open gate, a view of the courtyard gallery and the tower opens up – visitors are welcome to step in.
Guide dogs for the blind are allowed in the museum, as well as small lapdogs carried in a bag with prior agreement. Other pets are not permitted in the museum. Please note that tactile guidance systems such as Braille signage, raised print, guiding paths, or tactile orientation elements have not been implemented.
At present, there is no induction loop in the Red Tower.
If assistance is needed when moving around in the museum, help can be requested from the visitor guide at the ticket desk. The visitor guide usually speaks Estonian and English, and in some cases also Russian and Finnish.
