Description:
Mārtiņsala nature trail is located in the very centre of Kuldīga. It stretches along the right bank of the River Venta and allows to enjoy the marvellous Venta Rapid – the widest waterfall in Europe. A leisurely walk will take less than an hour. The trail is loop-type, yet because of the steep slopes and rough pavement it is impossible for wheelchair users to get to the very coast. Parents with baby-strollers should take into account that the wooden boardwalk stretching along the coast is quite narrow – 95 cm and there are no exchange areas on the way. Grab swimsuits along and take a swim, when visiting in summer. Mārtiņsala swimming site has got the Blue flag award certifying its good quality.
Accessibility
Accessible WC at the City Garden and on Krasta Street at the Pārventa Park. The trail on the right side (near the bridge) is too narrow and too rough for wheelchair users to access the coast.
Facilities
Swimming site (Blue flag beach)
