Lucavsala Recreation Park and Beach

Lucavsala has a recreation area with well-maintained asphalt roads, picnic areas, toilets, a seasonal cafe, and a beach. During the season, there is also a lifeguard station on the beach. Lucavsala Park is wheelchair accessible, and beach wheelchairs are available for rent free of charge at the beach. Lucavsala has parking spaces for people with disabilities, both at the entrance to the area and at the beach itself. There are toilets for people with disabilities at the parking lots. The portable bio-toilet located at the beach could be considered suitable, but the toilet located at the entrance for people in wheelchairs is considered unsuitable. The main reason for this is the improperly installed support handles and the obstructive baby changing table. The paths in the area are sufficiently wide and have a stable asphalt or concrete paving stone surface. There are no significant longitudinal slopes on the sidewalks. A changing cabin is installed in the immediate vicinity of the swimming area, which is also suitable for people in wheelchairs and can be accessed with a pram. During the season, lifeguards at the beach lifeguard station provide swimming aids. Please note that lifeguards do not help people get into the aids or otherwise assist them, so people who wish to use these aids must be accompanied by an assistant. In the immediate vicinity of the beach, in the car park, there is a bench with a table that is accessible by wheelchair, but other tables are located deep in the grass, where access is not possible. The tables located on the lawn also do not have wheelchair access. There are ramps installed on the premises that can be used by people in wheelchairs. Access to the seasonal market and cafe is not provided.
