Construction of the hotel began in 1960. The hotel opened its doors to its first guests on January 15, 1966. At that time, the hotel was very popular among high-ranking Communist Party officials, but city residents were not allowed to stay there. Without interrupting the hotel’s operations, its reconstruction began in 2000. The hotel has 115 rooms and is still the largest hotel in Liepāja. The restaurant “Upe” is located on the first floor of the hotel.
The main entrance to the hotel has a ramp for easier access. An elevator is available to move between floors. There is also one room adapted for people with disabilities, located on the 5th floor. Disabled parking is available in the hotel courtyard. The entrance to the parking lot is from Stendera iela. The courtyard entrance has a ramp for access to the hotel, but it can be overcome with the help of an assistant. The restaurant is also easily accessible.
