The cinema “Splendid Palace” indeed is one of, if not the most splendid and magnificent cinemas in all of Europe, being in business from as early as 1923, the building, the first of its kind in Riga knowingly built to house a cinema, still impresses with its baroque facade, whereas the interior has been richly painted in the rococo style by Hermann Grunberg, and decorated with the sculptures by R. Maur and J. Legzdins.
Wheelchair entry very feasible, elevator located next to the main door. Both cinema halls and the lobby are large and accessible, as is the toilet for invalids, which is located next to the women’s rest room.
