Since 1949, the Cēsis History and Art Museum has been housed in the New Palace of Cēsis. The Museum was founded as a publicly accessible museum in 1925 by the Cēsis branch of the Society of Latvian Antiquities, and the core of its founders were the schoolteachers in the city. For the first time in Latvia, on October 22, 1988, the red and white flag was hoisted permanently in the Lademacher tower of the museum. Various exhibitions and concerts take place in the museum.

-In the territory of the medieval castle, it is possible to reach the castle garden with a wheelchair – craftsman workshops and the medieval kitchen garden.
– In the Cēsis History and Art Museum you can easily reach the 3rd floor with an elevator and the attic hall of the 4th floor with a chair lift
