An excellent destination for those looking for extensive active recreation opportunities near and on the water. The reservoir has several swimming areas, but the most popular is the Blue Flag beach, next to Jēkabpils Mežaparks. There are also several parking lots with designated parking spaces for people with disabilities, an all-season tube slide track, a disc golf course “Lynx Paw”, and closer to the reservoir – a wake park.
The Blue Flag beach is suitable for parents with strollers and people in wheelchairs. A walking trail leads along the lakeshore to the viewing platform. Although the viewing platform is not accessible to people in wheelchairs, even from the place where it begins, you can see the Radži great stone and several dolomite islands of the lake.
