Route Nr.3 – Gauja nature trail and wooden sculpture park https://ej.uz/fy83
We drive from Valmiera to Strenči. The distance is 20 km. Around 30 different wooden sculptures in honor of rafters have been installed in Strenči on the banks of the Gauja River. Every year the Gauja rafters festival takes place here, where new sculptures are created. Walking along the Gauja nature trail, you can enjoy being in nature. This feeling heals mental health. On the trail you can see the flooded islands, peculiar trees, Strenči rapids. The trail markings are white with blue and yellow lines. One round of the trail is about 5 km, the other round around 7 km. This time we looked at the park of wooden sculptures and the smallest part of the nature trail, because moving along the trail is preferable with the help of an assistant. And grass and loose sand began behind the sculpture park.
After visiting the nature trail, we go to Strenči Lutheran Church https://ej.uz/ykpm
